Qld: Hostage released as siege ends
Police are waiting to talk to a 38-year-old man taken to hospital after a 10-hour siege
in Brisbane's southern suburbs.
A police spokeswoman says a 59-year-old male hostage was released unharmed from a Boronia
Heights home around 12.50am (AEST) today.
She says that about 40 minutes later a 38-year-old man emerged from the house armed
with two knives.
She says that after a short struggle with police, the man was overcome and taken to
Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
The spokeswoman says the incident is being investigated by the police ethical standards
command, with oversight by the Crime and Misconduct Commission.
She says the 38-year-old man has yet to be interviewed.
