NT: 114 Chinese fishermen moved from Darwin to Port Hedland

DARWIN, Jan 2 AAP - Chinese fishermen detained for two months aboard six trawlers inDarwin Harbour have been transferred to a West Australian detention centre.
Immigration authorities took the unusual step at the weekend of flying the 114 seamento the Port Hedland facility for illegal immigrants and asylum seekers.
The move followed a violent clash aboard a trawler two weeks ago in which a crewmanwas slashed with a broken bottle.
He had to be treated at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
